Life at Hammes
The Kohl Center is an NCAA arena and home to the University of Wisconsin men's and women's basketball teams and men's hockey team. Since opening, the building has held up as one of the finest on-campus facilities in collegiate athletics.
The Kohl Center program required a unique on-campus arena design that brought fans close to the playing floor with excellent sight lines while accommodating multiple competing programs (men's basketball, women's basketball, and men's hockey).
Hammes served as project developer for the University of Wisconsin on the Kohl Center, which opened in 1998. The unique design of the Kohl Center (with two overhanging balconies) guarantees that all fans will be close to the playing floor with excellent sight lines.
