While its main medical campus is located in Kalispell, Montana, Logan Health Medical Center draws from a total service area covering 13 counties, nearly 40,000 square miles, and a population of more than 600,000.
Before the build-out of a new children's facility in Kalispell, families had to travel to Seattle, Denver, or Salt Lake City for specialized neonatal and pediatric services.
Over the course of a nearly four-year relationship, Hammes served as project manager for multiple expansion and renovation projects for Logan Health, including the build-out of a 32,000-SF, 18-bed ICU in its existing surgery tower; the 26,000-SF Digestive Health Institute of Montana; the expansion and renovation of an 8,400-SF emergency department into a state-of-the-art 34,000-SF emergency and trauma department; and the new 190,000-SF Logan Health Children's.
Logan Health Children's, the only facility of its kind in the state, was created to provide local and regional access to high-quality pediatric specialty care. It includes a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), and a pediatric acute care unit, along with supporting services such as therapeutic areas and family rooms built for long-term stays. Logan Health Children's opened its doors in late June 2019 and received a 2019 Excellence Award from the Montana Contractor's Association. Hammes' close management of the multiple projects at Kalispell generated an aggregate budget savings of approximately $3.6 million.
