Hammes Company Healthcare celebrates groundbreaking of Moffitt Cancer Center hospital expansion

Hammes is serving as program manager for the development of a new, 20-acre property that will include a new 10-story, 498,000-square foot inpatient surgical hospital, central utility plant and three-story parking garage, and will be connected to Moffitt's existing outpatient center on the same campus.


Milwaukee, WI, June 18, 2020 - Hammes Company Healthcare, a leading provider of consulting and project delivery services to the healthcare industry, was honored to participate in the June 16th groundbreaking ceremony for the Moffitt Cancer Center hospital expansion in Tampa, Florida.

Hammes is serving as program manager for the development of a new, 20-acre property that will include a new 10-story, 498,000-square foot inpatient surgical hospital, central utility plant and three-story parking garage, and will be connected to Moffitt's existing outpatient center on the same campus. The new hospital expansion will be developed in two phases, with the first phase including 128 inpatient beds with the capacity to expand to 400 beds.

Construction for the new hospital will begin in July 2020 with occupancy anticipated for the summer of 2023.
